Dr. John H. Curry, Jr. is a visionary leader, educator, and dedicated Senior Pastor of Historic Mt. Olive Missionary Baptist Church, where he has faithfully served since 1993. A native of Alabama, his life’s work reflects a profound commitment to faith, education, and community transformation. With a Bachelor of Science in Government and Political Science from Auburn University, a Master of Education, an Administrative Supervision Certification (P–12), and a Doctor of Ministry in Pastoral Leadership from Andersonville Theological Seminary, Dr. Curry brings a powerful blend of academic and spiritual insight to every role he undertakes. His leadership extends beyond the pulpit into education, where he serves as Director of Information Technology for Macon County Schools, previously holding roles as Assistant Principal, Third Grade Teacher, and Head Start Center Director. Known for integrating innovation with ministry, Dr. Curry also shares his passions through teaching technology, writing, photography, and enjoying hobbies like cooking, fishing, and reading. His work is guided by integrity, compassion, and a steadfast belief in building stronger families, communities, and futures through service.
